Powerful Role Music Has on Society.

Music is so important for society. When I was brainstorming for this project my first thought is music does 2 main things. First helps people relax and live life. Second music saves lives. Reading another article from the University of Nevada, Reno they did a study on how music helps people with stress "Music is effective for relaxation and stress management." (university of Nevada)  people have different let outs for stress some will go to the gym and workout this is typically fast and loud music to keep you moving. Others go to yoga this is very zen music much slower. Some people go out and party this typically requires upbeat music. I also looked into why music can save lives. Music can help people remember memories or connect with the artist's words. Sometimes when you are at your lowest music can keep you moving.
I have chosen 2 different songs for the 2 topics I mentioned above. The song I choose for relaxation is one of my favorite songs for yoga (my kinda relaxation) Heavenly the link is below to check it out.

Looking at the song above it is extremely slow and relaxing, there are just musical instruments no singing. This tempo is slow to calm the heart rate and move with the pace the body wants to go. A few different instruments are playing in harmony. The rhythm this song has is what helps instructors make good flows. Personally, I love listening to my yoga flow playlist and just doing small meditations to help decompress from a long stressful day. comment how/ genre music helps you relax.

The song I chose for saving lives is kinda a joke I choose a song medical professionals to use for CPR.  It is called staying alive. I didn't want to choose a specific song for this one because it's so vastly different for everyone. That's the best part of the music we all share an interest in loving it but at the same time choosing different types. The link is below

This song is extremely catchy and that's why it's used for CPR. The beat is what gets stuck in people's heads. There is an upbeat fast tempo. It was hard finding a video of just the song without instructors talking in the background. I like this song since I just started my first job in the healthcare field I have been going through a lot of training to learn CPR. This song will forever be stuck in my head. comment your song that makes a bad day feel like a good day.

  1. I forgot that the song "Staying Alive" was used for CPR! It's been a while since I've taken a CPR class. That is definitely a catchy tune and the beat is perfect to do CPR with. The video made me laugh. I also included a relation song in my final blog and I liked the one you included as well. I think I'll be listening to them a bit more. They really calm me.
